RLP Shelter Foundation National Partner

The Canadian Women's Foundation (CWF) is Canada's only national public foundation dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls through economic and social change. The foundation raises funds and makes grants to charitable projects that help women and girls in Canada achieve greater self-reliance and economic independence. 

CWF is dedicated to long-term systemic change, specifically assisting women's groups in the key areas of economic development and violence prevention. Since it started in 1991, CWF has awarded $5.6 million in grants to over 600 projects all over Canada. Priority is given to projects involving women and girls who are isolated by geography or poverty, or who face other challenges.

CWF raises funds from individual donors, corporations, professional firms, and other foundations. It receives no government or United Way support. CWF also provides technical assistance to women's organizations and consultation to other funders on women's issues, organizations and services.
